My honey and I were lucky enough to know a bunch of wedding vendors prior to planning our wedding. We know a DJ, photographer and florist. Booking all those things were so easy.
The one vendor I really had no idea about was a hair stylist and makeup artist. I had a long wish list. I wanted one person who could do both hair and makeup. I wanted someone who could schlep all their tools to us at our getting ready location. I wanted someone who uses MAC makeup. Oh, and they must be kind, must be witty, very sweet and fairly pretty... Basically, I wanted the Mary Poppins of hair and makeup artistry.
I posted a discussion topic on yelp with my wish list for a hair and makeup artist and heard from someone who had used The Traveling Stylist (Amy) and loved her. I checked out Amy's website and immediately sent her an e-mail and kept my fingers crossed that she would be available.
From the very beginning, Amy was super easy to work with. She replied to my request for information quickly and we were able to take care of the contract via e-mail. She is really nice, easy to talk to and her prices are completely reasonable. With myself and six bridesmaids to be beautified, Amy brought in a second stylist to help out. This was done within our contract and at no extra cost to me.
We started hair and makeup first thing in the morning and got done with plenty of time to do all of our wedding portraits prior to our 5:00 pm ceremony. It took just under six hours for all of our hair and makeup to be done. I highly recommend putting some wiggle room in your wedding day schedule. I felt beautiful and all of my bridesmaids looked amazing. I know some of them felt a little too made up but that is because some of my girlfriends are not used to wearing lots of makeup. Amy and Heather did a great job of checking in with everyone about what they wanted and were comfortable with. My bridesmaids all still looked like themselves, just even hotter than usual!
I highly recommend Amy for special event hair and makeup!
