I booked Amy (The Traveling Stylist) for my makeup and hair for my wedding. It was hard for me to find a hair and makeup artist who does both hair and makeup within my budget (around $200) in the East Bay. I sent emails to several hair and makeup artists who are listed in yelp, and I eventually found Amy. She gave me a detailed email including her fee and the cosmetics that she uses (MAC).
On the following week, I went to her studio in Sacramento for a consultation with my friend, and Amy gave me two hair styles and a makeup application. I usually don't put a lot of makeup, so I was surprised when I looked at my face after she was done. I felt that perhaps the makeup was too strong as I usually put very little makeup, but after a little while both me and my friend thought I looked great. After the consultation, I decided to book her since she was very nice and easy to talk to. Later on, I told her that I wanted my makeup to be more natural and sent her a picture of my image via email, and she took my directions very carefully and did a great job with my hair and makeup on my wedding day. I'm very glad that I booked her for my wedding!
